The Individual and Community Preparedness Intern will provide technical expertise and implement local preparedness and resilience offerings, working with regional employees and volunteers to builed prepared and resilient communities.
Specific functions of this position include active involvement in the local community working with community groups, elected and appointed officials to develop and administer abd effective preparedness program. The position is responsible for sucessful program implementation, collaboration with volunteers and soliciting feedback from end customers.
Qualifications: Undergraduate student with a background in Communications and Emergency Management. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
