Ranger points out site while on riverboat education trip..

Drop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to find out about education and restoration programs recruiting for volunteers. There will be no formal presentation but Rangers and volunteers will be available to answer questions about the National Park, the Mississippi River Fund and all of the volunteer programs. No registration necessary. Parking is available at the attached Kellogg Square parking ramp, at meters on the street or at other nearby ramps and lots.

Where: Park Service Headquarters - 111 Kellogg Blvd. East, Second Floor Conference Room, Saint Paul, MN 55101. This is the Kellogg Square Apartment building conveniently located on the Green Line.

The Volunteers-In-Parks program, jointly managed by Mississippi National River and Recreation Area and Mississippi Park Connection, connects, educates, and promotes the enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River through unique and entertaining volunteer opportunities to the entire community.

Description

The Volunteers-In-Parks program is a joint program with Mississippi Park Connection. Mississippi National River and Recreation Area represents America's greatest river, the Mississippi, which weaves together the natural and cultural heritage and economic vitality of the region. The National Park Service works with partners to foster increased citizen awareness, advocacy, and enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River.

Volunteer-In-Parks provides people with opportunities to discover, experience, and enjoy the diversity of the Mississippi River while also preserving it for future generations through volunteer restoration projects and education programs.
