Affiliate Cars for Homes Coordinator

The goal for a volunteer position is to increase awareness of car donations as another way for the public and volunteers of the affiliate to provide financial support for the affiliate.

Skills:

Strong communications skills; ability to organize and/or participate in public events; computer skills, including website and social media content.

Duties:

Monitor the affiliate website, affiliate written communications and emails, as well as affiliate events, to make sure that car donations are always included as an option for affiliate supporters and donors.

Assist and enlist all staff, board, and volunteers to maximize the use of Cars for Homes marketing tools:

  • Share information about CFH with other staff and board members and with volunteers through all appropriate channels, including:
    • by providing program information
    • by providing a CFH brochure or rack card at every office desk, easily visible, so if a call is received or a question is asked about CFH, the information is readily available
    • by making presentations at volunteer orientations
    • by sharing CFH Newsletters with staff and board members
    • by keeping all appropriate affiliate persons informed about progress toward revenue goals
  • Work with the affiliate webmaster to incorporate all of the CFH web and social media suggestions
  • At the ReStore, manage the acquisition of CFH marketing collateral from My.Habitat, monitor and replenish as needed:
    • Rack cars for display
    • CFH brochures to distribute
    • Door hangers for drivers to leave with donors (personalized on one side for the affiliate’s ReStore
    • Bumper Stickers and window clings to give away at events
  • Order and monitor the use of free CFH marketing collateral, including all of the following that are appropriate:
    • Yard signs and banners for build sites
    • Magnetic signs for construction vehicles, metal doors at the ReStore and affiliate offices, and construction storage units
    • Stickers for roll-up doors on ReStore box trucks, for construction storage units, for affiliate vans
    • Strategically place banners at the affiliate, the ReStore, on construction sites, and at affiliate events and at public events that the affiliate participates in, such as county fairs and local events
    • Obtain CFH PSAs, place them with local TV and radio media, and remind other staff to always include an appeal for car donations as a part of their media event or press release whenever they have an opportunity

  • Organize and supervise youth groups, such as Scouts, HS civic organizations, or other youth that need Community Service opportunities to:
    • hang CFH door-hangers in appropriate neighborhoods
    • display CFH posters on community bulletin boards, at partners churches, car dealerships, and other free sites
