TouchTEAM changes lives!

Are you a compassionate, patient person with a high social intelligence? Perhaps you are or were once a teacher, nurse, or caretaker yourself - or perhaps you have personal experience with helping those with memory loss. Please volunteer to help facilitate positive remembrance experiences through games, music, and video communication.

As our population grows older, we are increasingly faced with the realities of memory loss. Folks with aging memory and their caretakers sometimes struggle to communicate and share positive experiences together. The Santa Cruz Public Libraries provides a space for guided activities to engage aging memories, and strengthen relationships with caretakers through the use of the iPads’ touchscreen technology in the TouchTEAM prgoram.

Experience with an iPad preferred, but most importantly volunteers must be empathetic and understanding of the dynamics between those with aging memory and their caretakers.

Training provided.

This is a one and one half hour commitment on Monday mornings with some flexibility in shift sign-up.
