The Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library is looking for volunteers to assist with special events, for example, an author book signing, the Edible Books Festival, the Sokol High School Literary Awards Contest, and library building tours. Please contact us for more details.

Mission Statement
The Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library conducts essential fundraising and provides valued programs to enhance and promote the Rochester Public Library.
Description
Contributions to the Friends & Foundation of the RPL augment public support and are used to expand library collections and programs and services; to support capital improvements of library facilities; and to support professional resources, services, and staff. Funds are also raised to demonstrate the viability of innovative projects for which public funds may subsequently be budgeted.
The Friends & Foundation of the RPL raises funds through:
- gifts to an annual fundraising campaign
- special project grants from corporations, individuals, charitable foundations, and government funding sources
- earnings generated by a permanent endowment fund
- individual gifts made through wills and trusts, and
- income from the sale of books and gift items through the Library Store both online and at the Central Library downtown.
