The Special Events Management intern will gain experience through shadowing the development team. The intern will participate in board meetings, donor/gift planning, networking, meeting preparation, etc.
The intern will support the Development team by researching via
internet and phone to become more knowledgeable about foundation giving priorities, deadlines and requirements while learning to write standard grant proposals for core services and researching data used in defining need, etc.
Qualifications: Undergraduate Senior or first-year Masters Level syudent with a background in Business Administration, Nonprofit management, fundraising
management, Marketing and Management, Project Management or Public Administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Power Point. Experience with Salesforce a plus. Spanish is a plus.

Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
