The intern will assist with all aspects of the operations of the First Aid Services Team, a well-trained and well-equipped all-volunteer squad. Members include First Aid Volunteers, licensed First Responders, EMT's, Paramedics, and Nurses. Members provide basic emergency medical care. The Intern will also assist with overseeing and engaging Red Cross Youth Clubs. The intern will be trained in: CPR for the professional, Basic First Aid, and blood borne pathogens.
Qualifications: Pre-Med, Nursing, CNA or EMS student (Undergraduate or Graduate level). Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Power Point. Excellent communications skills, media experience preferred. Strong social media skills, strong writing skills and ability write press releases and work on website. Ability and willingness to be at the site of an emergency.

Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
