Two positions available.
The Blood Services Donor Recruitment Intern will be responsible for assisting with blood donor recruitment at our Appalachian donation center and coordinating blood drives locally. This position will focus on establishing and building relationships with businesses, organizations and blood drive coordinators. The Blood Services Intern will also work on special projects to increase blood donations during the summer months.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate student with a background in Marketing, communications, or other related field of study desired, but not required
- Strong computer skills: proficiency in MS Office Suite and internet savvy
- Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc)
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong customer service skills with focus on problem resolution
- Ability to complete work with minimal supervision
- Some event management experience preferred, but not required

Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
