Intern will be assigned to assist Development Department with special event coordination around Ride for the Red including handling promotional events (bike nights and other bike events), overseeing distribution of event t-shirts, assisting with fulfillment of sponsorship benefits, assisting with online marketing and PR activities including email blasts and assisting with details related to event registration. In addition, intern will assist with the email blast creation for the Heroes Breakfast (Dec. 2014) and other research and planning for the event. Other tasks may include assisting with tax acknowledgements and other department duties to carry-out the daily activities of the development department.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate student majoring in Communications/PR/Business
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Email Blast software

Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
