The Communication Intern will assist in event promotion, social media campaigns, writing press releases, tracking media coverage throughout Kansas, and updating the media contact database. Intern must have strong written skills and the ability to problem solve.
Qualifications: Undergraduate Junior or Senior majoring in Communications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Social Media, and Creative Suite (helpful, but not necessary)

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
