Medical Volunteer Description: This position is available for pre-med or medical students as well as already trained medical professionals (residents, doctors, nurses), technicians (lab technicians, surgical technicians, ultrasound technicians), pharmacists and other medical personnel. You will be working in a village clinic with a doctor/surgeon, a full staff of nurses with an on premises lab and operating room. You will assist/consult patients from pediatric to geriatric age as well as seeing ob/gyn patients (pre-natal visits and ultrasounds), HIV/AIDS patients and assist in surgeries (depending on experience/skill/training). You will also have the opportunity to assist and observe laboratory studies being carried out based on interest. This is a great opportunity for those looking to experience medicine in a resource-limited setting or those looking to improve their knowledge and skills in tropical medicine.
