San Leandro Police Activities League (PAL) is looking for math/science tutors to work with local high school juniors to improve their academic abilities. Some of the students' areas of need are AP Biology, PreCalculus, Calculus, and Environmental Science.
Tutors will meet with the students at the San Leandro PAL office to work together. PAL is looking for individuals to come in 1-2 times per week for 30-60 minutes each meeting to encourage and assist students with improving their academic performance.

Description
The Be A Mentor Program pairs caring adult volunteers from the community with youth in one-to-one relationships. Mentors give of their time to be a friend, answering questions, and providing guidance. Mentors come from a variety of backgrounds and occupations and volunteer their personal time to be a caring friend to a youth. They serve as a role model, advocate, and resource. The purpose of the mentoring relationship is to help youth develop their full potential, both in and outside of the classroom.
