- Volunteer will be expected to be a technology scavenger. The objective of the role is to understand what technology, research, and efforts exist on the market (free and paid)
- Align technology and tools with the information management and situational awareness items that need to be produced.
- Explore the art of the possible with Red Cross requirements and market-avaialble technologies. This position will be the beginning of a research and development arm of the Red Cross Disaster team.
- Prototype technology applications for preparedness, response, and recovery based upon field needs.

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Description
The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
