This volunteer opportunity is for Volunteers Age 55.
Do you have good people skills?
Would you like to make things a little easier for someone experiencing hard times?
Are you interested in learning/utilizing some computer skills?
Then this opportunity may be right for you!
We have people experiencing difficulties right in our neighborhood, including many families with children - YOU can help.
In Multnomah County, we have an organization that addresses the emergency needs of families in crisis - including providing food and clothing.
We are in need of compassionate, articulate people to serve as Interviewers - talking with people when they come in for services.
As an Interviewer you will:
-assess eligibility and needs,
-use a computer tracking system,
-provide information and referrals
All training is provided.
Hours: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays 9:30 am - 2:00 pm. A 6-month commitment is requested.
Location is on SE Hawthorne Blvd.
We are looking for people who can be compassionate, yet professional. All volunteers are fully trained and supported. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who has people skills and truly wants to help others.

Description
Metropolitan Family Service (MFS) volunteers serve in various capacities, depending on their areas of interest and abilities. Volunteers participate in on-going opportunities in one of three focus areas: helping children succeed, strengthening families and their connections to the community, and helping older adults and persons with disabilities live independently. We create opportunities that bridge generations and inspire everyone to live their best life.
