Hundreds of Sandy survivors are still homeless, 15 months after the storm.
Whether they’re staying in hotels, with friends, or with relatives, they all have one thing in common: they want to go home. World Cares Center (WCC) partners with rebuild organizations in Staten Island, Queens, and Brooklyn to get survivors safely back in the homes they own, free of charge. This is only possible with the help of volunteers who are willing to commit to at least one day in the field with WCC.
Volunteers 16 of any skill level are welcome. Safety training, personal protective equipment, and skilled leadership will be provided. Please register to volunteer at http://worldcares.org/content/get-involved/disaster-volunteer-application or send any questions or concerns to training@worldcares.org.
