Volunteers are needed to make daily telephone calls to check on the well-being and safety of seniors who may have no friends or relatives close by, who are homebound, live alone, are ill or disabled. Volunteers make calls from the comfort of their own home at a time convenient for the volunteer and senior. This service provides the person served with a sense of security and provides them with needed companionship. Volunteers do not make calls on the weekends.
Volunteers must be 55 years old or older to enroll in the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program.
RSVP is a Senior Corps program administered by the Corporation for National & Community Service and is sponsored locally by Senior Resources of Guilford.
