ORGANIZATION: Volunteer Services

Meet a delightful elder who really needs your help! Alabama raised, she’s lived in North Bend for 3 years now. She uses oxygen, has trouble breathing, has arthritis, and a uses walker. She smokes outside but the odor has carried inside. She is friendly and appreciative and would like help organizing her apt to best fit her walker, housework, and grocery shopping. Volunteer would have to be comfortable with second hand smoke smell. Truly in need as she is very frail and fun to talk to.

Volunteer Chore Service, a program of Catholic Community Services, assists low-income elders and persons living with disabilities. Volunteers can provide assistance with light housecleaning, transportation, grocery shopping, home repair and yard care. With a little help from volunteers, clients can continue to live independently in their homes.

Due to the vulnerable population we serve, volunteers must complete an application form, pass a Washington State Patrol check and attend an orientation.

Description

Volunteer Services is a program of Catholic Community Services. We are a Washington state-wide program, started as a safety net for older adults and adults with disabilities who do not qualify for state-paid chore assistance and cannot afford to hire assistance.
