Position Title: Administrative Assistant - Housing Programs
Department: Education
Location: 1055 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 1955
Commitment: 8-12 hours a week, M-F between 9 am and 5 pm
Position Available: Immediate opening
Position Description and Duties: The Admin Assistant will work within the Housing department to help with the creation and update of a housing resource guide to list findings such as:
1. Programs
- Organization (Name, Address, phone, website)
- Area served
- Description of services (what's provided, program facts)
- Eligibility
2. Affordable Housing
- Organization (Name, Address, phone, website)
- Contact
- Unit types
- Availability
- Eligibility requirements
Skills and Qualities:
Volunteers must be reliable and flexible in switching tasks. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Solid writing and communications skills. Experience using a computer and familiarity with office equipment, including MS Office, copy and fax machines, internet research, and willingness to learn new
programs. Must be able to follow instructions, work with confidential information and sensitive situations, with minimal supervision.
Volunteer Process: Volunteers are recruited for open
positions until the positions are filled. They are selected based on their skills, commitment and availability. Prior to beginning service, volunteers are required to attend an orientation, get fingerprinted and pass a background check. UFC is seeking to build a meaningful, long-term relationship with its volunteer community and is looking for volunteers eager to connect with our organization’s mission and youth. Please note, it may take up to three weeks to be processed after attending an orientation.

Through our Housing and Education Programs, foster youth are provided with the opportunity to graduate from high school, attend and graduate from college, get a job, find housing and have a support system that moves them gradually towards independence.
We are looking for dedicated volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of current and former foster youth. Individuals committed to providing educational and enrichment opportunities so that our youth may thrive.
UFC's volunteer program is designed to provide individuals with various ways to help. Whether you enjoy assisting in the office, or helping guide foster youth on their path to college, we welcome your support.
