ORGANIZATION: Playworks

4th & 5th Grade Co-ed Volleyball Referee: Playworks is a national nonprofit organization that transforms schools by providing play and physical activity at recess and throughout the school day.Our trained coaches are on the playground full time to introduce games designed to build leadership, self-esteem, and foster teamwork. We are looking for enthusiastic referee volunteers to help create a fun, supportive environment for developing players by officiating, explaining rules, and enthusiastically promoting non-competitive play for our 4th and 5th Grade Co-Ed Volleyball League. This position requires a 5 week long commitment, one day a week, during the months of March and April. Games are held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Portland Metro Area. Volunteers do not need previous experience refereeing; only the passion to work with elementary school aged children. Must be able to attend a training and pass a Criminal Background Check.

Referee training will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at our Volleyball Extravaganza from 10:00am to 12:30pm.
