Looking for volunteers to help us sell Geraniums, distribute them and be an Ambassador on pick up days in May. Our second annual Geranium Sale starts March 1, 2014 - April 24, 2014. Pick up days are May 9th and 10th in Buffalo, Hamburg and Amherst. We need to raise money for the WNY Ovarian Cancer Project which helps us keep going with our mission. This will help us Print Symptom & Risk Cards and give every woman in treatment for Ovarian Cancer a Comfort & Hope Tote Bag.

Description
Empowering Women: Education, Support & Advocacy
Education:
Ovarian Cancer is the deadliest of all gynecologic cancers, yet most people don't know that ovarian cancer has symptoms or personal risk factors. We work with individuals and groups both at the lay and professional level to ensure understanding of this important and lifesaving information.
Support:
The Ovarian Cancer Project povides women with ovarian cancer and other gynecologic cancers with trusted information and supportive services. From the time of diagnosis to beyond, we provide women with important resources, special insight and hope. Our signature "Comfort & Hope" totes are available to every woman diagnosed with ovarian cancer, our Professionally Facilitated Support Group offers women vital face-to-face connections, and help to reduce anxiety and depression. And our Woman to Woman Mentoring program matches trained gynecolgic cancer survivor/volunteers with newly diagnosed women. From diagnosis, treatment and beyond the Ovarian Cancer Project is here to help.
Advocacy:
Treatment for ovarian cancer hasn't changed in over 20 years. At the Ovarian Cancer Project we know the way to helping ensure better treatments for women includes advocating for what's best for a womans health. This includes advocating for reseach funding which we do at both the state and federal levels.
Free:
All of the programs and services of the Ovarian Cancer Project are free of charge.
