We're looking for a few talented and conscientious volunteer board members to lead and strengthen our programs for "at risk youth" and their families. We're especially looking for folks with accounting, legal, marketing, public relations, fundraising, environmental advocacy and event planning experience, with backgrounds in education, mental health, nonprofit management, and/or social services from the Los Angeles County area. The mission of the Foundation is to create a life-long meaningful connection for our community youth and their families by establishing an environmentally conscious, one-stop, networking hub that offers services and support while providing accessible navigation through Los Angeles’ comprehensive children services system.
Description
The Foster & Banks Walk in Faith Foundation is a social service agency created to support, educate, and guide children and families located in Los Angeles County. The primary goal of the Foundation is to address the needs of and provide services and support to "at-risk" children, adolescents and young adults experiencing crisis, and those with developmental or learning disabilities. Programs include tutoring designed to improve skills and capitalize on strengths, music classes to stimulate individuality and creativity, and workshops like self-esteem building to foster the confidence needed for youth to be successful in the community. The Foundation will also offer programs like adult support groups, family game nights, and other events for the families of these children to help create more positive and functional family systems.
