We need board members willing to meet monthly, lead committees and provide leadership for the organization. Board members serve 3 years terms that start in March of each year. We need people with fundraising, strategic planning and organizational skills as well as people with marketing and construction skills. This is an opportunity to grow the organization and make progress toward completing the Center for Rural History, a state of the art visitor center.

We have a two part mission: To preserve old-time rural lifeways of Dane County through education and preservation. To maintain a conservancy for nature study and recreational activities.
Description
Schumacher Farm is a county park, nature conservancy and open air farm museum. The property, buildings, and activities represent the landscape and agricultural lifeways of the Town of Westport and rural Dane County during the 1920s-30s. It is significant for its portrayal of cultural characteristics and an early way of life that no longer exist in Westport.
