Relay For Life is a 12 hour, overnight, community gathering that gives everyone an opportunity to fight cancer and help save lives. Teams camp out around the track and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each participant is encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 each.
At Relay For Life, you will celebrate survivors, remember loved ones lost to the disease, and learn more about how to fight back against cancer. While you’re raising much-needed funds, you’ll also be raising awareness of the importance of cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and patient support. No matter who you are, you can help and there’s a place for you at Relay.
On all campus Relay For Life events in the area, we are looking for additional students for ourplanning committee.
If you are unable to commit to planning the event, we also encourage you to sign up ateamat your local Relay event. You can find your local on by searching by zip code at relayforlife.org. You can even just participate as anindividual participant.
If you would like to learn more about the opportunity at your local college, please contact Kylie Madden at Kylie.Madden@cancer.org

Mission Statement
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
Description
The American Cancer Society is a global grassroots force of 2.5 million volunteers saving lives and fighting for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. As the largest voluntary health organization, the Society's efforts have contributed to a 22 percent decline in cancer death rates in the US during the past two decades, and a 50 percent drop in smoking rates. Thanks in part to our progress nearly 14.5 million Americans who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will celebrate more birthdays this year. We're determined to finish the fight against cancer. As the nation's largest private, not-for-profit investor in cancer research, we're finding cures and ensuring people facing cancer have the help they need and continuing the fight for access to quality health care, lifesaving screenings, clean air, and more. For more information, to get help, or to join the fight, visit cancer.org or call us anytime, day or night, at 1-800-227-2345.
