Golden Retrieve Rescue of Atlanta

Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta ( GRRA) rescued & rehomed 180 dogs in 2013 and 210 dogs in 2012.

GRRA is a 100% volunteer organization. No facility to house our dogs - 95% of all funds go to vetting and care of the dogs in our program.

Most of our volunteer roles can be done from the comfort of our own home. Periodically we do community events to raise awareness of the rescue and to recruit volunteers.

Volunteer roles needed:

FOSTERS - (caring for one of our dogs in your home).

ADOPTION CONSULTANTS - (assisting adopting families through the GRRA adoption process)

FUND RAISING (join the team that helps us raise money to pay for the medical care and needs of our dogs)

MARKETING (Creative team that promotes awareness of GRRA in the community and on-line)

IN-TAKE (Work with local shelters and owners surrendering dogs to us to evaluate them for our program.

ALL ROLES are important and vital to our group. No amount of time that you can volunteer is too small.

Mission Statement

The mission of GRRA is to rescue and rehome golden retrievers in the Atlanta metro area. GRRA works in tandem with local shelters and other local rescue organizations to provide loving and safe homes for the dogs that we rehome.

Description

Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta (GRRA) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving Golden Retrievers that are in need of new forever homes. Started in 1991, Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta is registered with the State of Georgia and is licensed by the State Agriculture Department as an animal shelter and rescue group.

There are no paid officers or members within GRRA. Volunteers staff the myriad of functions associated with running the complex day-to-day operations of a dog rescue.

The GRRA Rescue team works closely with Georgia animal control organizations to save Golden Retrievers that have found themselves in shelters. We also accept Golden Retrievers from owners and breeders who are no longer able to provide the attention and/or care the dogs deserve.

The GRRA Foster team is a network of volunteers who generously provide the shelter, care, training and love these dogs need in preparation for adoption. GRRA also ensures necessary medical care for each dog is provided before they are adopted.
