Job Description:
The Volunteer Services Intern will work closely with our Volunteer Coordinator to assist with all phases of volunteer management which includes assisting with the development of the internship program and management of volunteer inquiries and application processing.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Volunteer Coordinator to develop internship handbook
- Assist with the development of the internal internship guide for all SOSC staff
- Assist with the development of external recruitment "to-go" kit for intern and volunteer recruitment events
- Assist with the volunteer inquiry process which includes tracking and responding to volunteer inquiries from the Special Olympics website, disbursing volunteers to the regions, and tracking regional follow up on volunteers
- Create weekly volunteer inquiries reports for department meetings
- Attend Volunteer recruitment drives as needed
Supervisor: Shantel Fair- Coordinator, Volunteers
Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Superior customer service skills
- Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
- Must complete Volunteer Application (Class A), complete and be cleared through the Background Check Screening, and complete the Online Protective Behavior Course
- Ability to multitask and work independently
Time Commitment:
- Flexible hours: 10-20 hours per week
- Prefer 4-8 hour shifts per day
- Days: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
- Available: March 1 to June 15
