When You Choose Mentoring you help change someone's world!

Trusted Mentors is looking forward to a wonderful New Year full of grand possibilities! As we celebrate
Dr. Martin Luther King this month, we remember his words of wisdom, "everybody can be great because everybody can serve". You can serve and be part of the change created by mentors! Volunteer to mentor an adult striving to stay housed or out of prison. It starts with training and then mentors commit an average of 6 hours a month for a year. Our mentors help transform lives - and our community. Mentors work individually but are not alone. All mentors receive quality training that helps the mentor be successful and ongoing support from professional staff. In return they have the opportunity to build new skills and form new friendships.

Desired skills and expertise: Our trusted mentors come from all walks of life. From business professionals to the formerly homeless, our mentors are equipped with the training needed to begin strategically sharing their knowledge and life experiences with a mentee - helping them make the positive changes they desire for a more successful future.

Support. Stabilize. Succeed.

Put forth your time with an individual in need with Trusted Mentors. A 4 hour virtual training provides information to be a successful mentor. For your convenience there are two information sessions each month, where you can find out more information about our services. Please look for more info at www.trustedmentors.org/volunteer-application to join our next virtual training class. Fill out an application so we can contact you with dates and times for our informational/training sessions and answer any questions which you may have about the program. Watch first hand accounts about the power of mentoring at https://vimeo.com/111005408. You can also email us at info@trustedmentors.org to let us know which sessions you will be attending.

Mission Statement

Trusted Mentors connects trained volunteer mentors with at risk adults to help more people stay housed and out of prison.

Description

Trusted Mentors connects trained, volunteer mentors with at risk adults to help more people stay housed and out of prison. We accomplish our mission by:

  • Providing quality training to equip volunteers with the resources and techniques needed to be effective mentors;
  • Matching adults referred by partnering agencies with trained mentors; and
  • Fostering on-going mentoring relationships by supplying useful information, guidance, and positive activities.
Trusted Mentors is recognized as the leading provider of mentoring relationships that empower at-risk adults to remain housed and avoid incarceration.

Mentors come from all walks of life. Whether you are a business professional or formerly homeless, your knowledge and life experiences can help one of our mentees make the positive changes they desire for a more successful future.

We partner with multiple agencies throughout Indianapolis, but we don’t duplicate services. The agencies maintain the case management - and we do what we do best, provide the mentors. Referring agencies utilize Trusted Mentors because it is an effective and professional organization.

We mentor change - and it matters.
