Lead small group adult literacy classes in the Detention Centers in Greensboro. Literacy instruction includes lessons in reading, writing, math and when possible, computer skills.
Reading Connections provides adult literacy classes in the Detention Centers in High Point and Greensboro. We are currently looking for women and especially men to work as volunteer instructors at the High Point site located at 507 East Green Drive.
The classes are small and are held once a week, usually in the afternoon. We provide our volunteers with orientation, resources, and training starting a month before they are assigned to a class.
Volunteers will shadow a seasoned instructor to become comfortable with the role of instructor and to learn our process.
