Many of our programs have a small garden or lawn that routinely needs maintenance. Existing gardens can be expanded or new gardens can be planted. These projects would entail mowing the lawn, keeping up with the existing garden, weeding, removing vines from the fence line or raking the leaves. This project occurs approximately 2 to 3 times a month. Volunteers would need to bring their own gloves, and landscaping/gardening supplies. If you would like to make a donation of these supplies to the program, that is always welcomed as well!
A well-manicured lawn and flourishing garden generates a sense of pride within the clients that reside at that location. It also creates an inviting space for clients to relax and socialize with other clients in a peaceful and bright space.
Every volunteer is required to complete an application and a brief interview prior to being assigned to this opportunity. Here is the link to our online application form: https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?ap=1190255427
