Do you have a Big Heart, A Soft Touch & A Little Time to Listen? If you have one or all of these qualities please call and become a volunteer with Grace Hospice. Volunteers spend time with a terminally ill patient doing enjoyable activities - reading, talking, engaging in a hobby. Volunteers help family members take a break to rejuvenate, go shopping or keep appointments. Volunteers are often the highlight of someone's day. Description
Hospice care is not just for the patient. It also provides emotional support for the entire family. Hospice is a philosophy of caring for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek agressive medical care at the end stage of life. Our program is for patients who are considered terminal and are expected to live six months or less if the disease follows its natural course, although many patients outlive this time frame. Our philosophy focuses on comfort care not currative care. Our goal is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. We also serve patients who are living in long-term and assisted living facilities.
