We are seeking individuals with particular expertise in business or hiring practices who want to give back in a unique way. The best social program for any individual is a job. As people gain the education and training they need, and find long-term employment, they will rely less on social services. Their families will become safer and more secure. The quantifiable societal costs associated with poverty and hopelessness will be reduced, and the community as a whole will be lifted up as more people turn their paychecks around where they live. The time commitment will average around 4 hours a week for 6 weeks per Job Club. Facilitators will be strongly supported by a full-time VISTA position and an Assistant Facilitator who will aid the facilitator, be responsible for producing participant materials, and help recruit and retain participants among many other organizational duties.
