Volunteering at UCP
One of our previous volunteers would come-in and do dance with our clients!

Are you interested in working with people who have disabiltiies? Whatever your skill or interest, United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) will work with you to ensure a good fit and meaningful volunteer experience. You can volunteer as much or as little as you'd like -whatever works best for your schedule. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and help in a variety of ways. In the past, volunteers have:

-Worked on art projects with clients

-Provided companionship

-Pushed wheelchairs to help our clients get-out in the community

-Helped with clean-up, maintenance, and yard work

-Shared their musical talents

-Provided exercise and fitness classes

The mission of United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Eastern Connecticut is to advance the independence and full citizenship of people with disabilities.

Description

United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Eastern Connecticut is a non-profit agency founded in 1947 in New London by a group of parents who recognized the lack of services for children with disabilities. Over the years, UCP has expanded to provide services to people with all disabilities from infancy through adulthood. UCP currently offers two day programs, in-home supports, a residential program to help clients live independently, and outreach services through the Disability Support Program for Under-Served Families.
