Seeking Registered Nurses to volunteer under the Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County in the event of a public health emergency. Volunteer Registered Nurses can perform duties consistent with their education and experience. Volunteers can contribute to community health initiative and disaster responses. Volunteers can also contribute to the Health Department’s public health emergency preparedness and response efforts.

Mission Statement
The Okaloosa-Walton Medical Reserve Corps' mission is to supplement existing community emergency medical response systems during disasters and urgent public health needs such as weather emergencies, communicable disease outbreaks and chemical/biological agent dispersions.
Description
The Okaloosa-Walton Medical Reserve Corps (OWMRC) is an organization of medical & non-medical volunteers who contribute their skills and expertise during public health emergencies, and when available, during skill-building activities throughout the year. The OWMRC is hosted by the Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County, but serves both Okaloosa and Walton counties. It is a corps of over 270 licensed and non-licensed medical and other professionals willing to give of their time when duty calls.
