Domestic Violence Crisis Advocates assist survivors of domestic and interpersonal violence by responding to calls on our 24-hour hotline and meet with survivors over the phone and in our office to provide crisis intervention, emotional support, court advocacy, and referrals to community resources. We need individuals who are available for daytime shifts, either from 9-1 pm or 1-5 pm, or overnight shifts from home on weekdays or weekends.

A 25-hour comprehensive training program is required for all Advocates. Training will cover topics including the dynamics of domestic violence, legal options for survivors, active listening, safety planning, and community resources. Advocates are asked to make a 12-month or three-semester commitment to volunteering after training is complete.

Training begins in Mid-September 2023.
