This is for volunteers AGE 55 OR OVER
Do you enjoy helping others?
Do you like working with others who care about those in need?
Do you have a couple of hours each week to help make a difference?
Then this opportunity may be for you!
Many families are in need of a little help once in awhile, especially when it comes to having enough food to feed their children. We partner with a social service organization that provides emergency assistance to people in crisis.
As a Personal Shopper you can help families and individuals select the food they need.
Families are given the opportunity to select their own food items from the pantry similar to shopping in a grocery store. To facilitate this shopping experience, a personal shopper - YOU will be assigned to the family to help with food selection, checking out and bagging.

TIME: Shifts are available Monday - Thursday between 9 am-2 pm. We work with your schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Patience
Attention to detail
Ability to stand or walk for periods of 30 minutes or more
TRAINING is provided: volunteers are supported by the Program Coordinator and Inventory Manager.

Description
Metropolitan Family Service (MFS) volunteers serve in various capacities, depending on their areas of interest and abilities. Volunteers participate in on-going opportunities in one of three focus areas: helping children succeed, strengthening families and their connections to the community, and helping older adults and persons with disabilities live independently. We create opportunities that bridge generations and inspire everyone to live their best life.
