ORGANIZATION: Victim Services Center of Montgomery County, Inc.

VSC, a non-profit agency serving Montgomery County, Pennsylvania since 1974 is seeking volunteers to answer our 24-hour crisis hotline from their home and provide crisis intervention, in-person hospital/police accompaniments, support, information, and appropriate referrals to individuals who have been affected by sexual violence and other crimes in our community.

All volunteers who have direct contact with the clients of Victim Services Center of Montgomery County, including staffing the agency’s two 24-hour crisis hotlines, must complete a 65-hour state mandated Sexual Assault Counselor/Victim Advocate training, or just SAC Training for short. Pennsylvania certification is granted after successful completion of the training requirements including a final exam at the completion of the course. The in-depth training is designed to prepare volunteers to provide crisis invention, support and information to individuals affected by serious crimes. At the completion of the training you will receive certification as a state certified sexual assault counselor.

Training is for 6 weeks, 6-9pm, 3 nights each week virtually on Zoom, or at VSC’s Office in Norristown, PA.

There is a training fee of $30 for each participant.
