Many people know that the Red Cross provides disaster relief and collects blood/blood products from donors, but don't realize that we offer many other vital programs and services to the community!

As a CAT member, you will help deepen the public's understanding of what we do, and the role they can play in supporting us.

• Attend health fairs and other events, initiating conversations with attendees about Red Cross programs and services.
• Provide information on how to obtain Red Cross resources that you are unable to provide at the event.
• Review Red Cross materials and information in an effort to remain up-to-date on Red Cross activities.
• Complete evaluation of event and offer feedback to Communication and Marketing staff.

Community/Corporate Fairs:

• Review information provided, identify audience/potential audience for each event and display the information that would be of most interest to attendees.
• May be responsible for set-up and teardown of information booth.
• Proactively greet attendees and initiate conversations about the work and mission of the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus.

Interactive Displays:

• Present hands-on demonstrations regarding emergency preparedness and safety tips to age-appropriate small groups as part of agency fairs, special events.
• May prepare display board and collect appropriate materials and return unused materials.

Presentations:

• Deliver Be Red Cross Ready presentations to adult audiences, presenting disaster preparedness skills and information. *Note: This is not a requirement of the CAT member position, but an extension of the position for those comfortable presenting to groups.

• Communication: Must have effective communication skills
