BRCIC

The Traumatic Loss volunteers are trained to provide immediate emotional support and aid to family and friends in the early hour/s following notification of the loss. As providers of the response, we offer immediate emotional support to the bereaved and help link them to community resources.

This outreach is provided through collaboration with the EBR Parish Coroner’s office, who activates the team when they determine a need. In addition to the immediate face-to-face emotional support, the responders provide information about local agencies that provide extended care.

Interested individuals are encouraged to go to www.brcic.org and click on "Getting Involved" or call Becky Young at BRCIC, (225) 924-1431.
