Mission Statement

Viginia's Hospice exists through God to improve the lives of our patients, their families, fellow staff members, and our community. With a servant's heart, we strive to enable those we serve to find hope and empower them to live each day to the fullest. Through people such as yourself, fellow human beings, whether patient or family member, are given the opportunity to regain their quality of life. We demonstrate compassion, supporting them so they do not walk alone. We companion with them in their journey, learning ourselves and realizing one day, their journey will be our journey.

Matthew's gospel 25:35-46: I was hungry and you gave me food (give the food of human company); thirsty and you gave me to drink (help quench the thirst of a soul in journey); a stranger and you welcomed me (dementia, alzheimer's, old age, end-of-life issues have changed me but can you/will you welcome me?); naked and you clothed me (decline and death try to strip me of my dignity, my humanity will you help cloth me with faith, hope and love); I was sick and you visited me (in my need you bring me the gift of yourself); was in prison and you came to me (when I was home bound, bed bound, imprisoned within myself you tended to me). And the just will ask, Lord, when did we see you this way? And the King will answer them, "Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the lest of my brothers/sisters, you did it to me".
