Are you passionate about empowering youth and caring for the county's animals in need? Then we need you!

The Volunteer Center runs a program that trains volunteer leaders to supervise small groups of youth volunteers (ages 13-17) working at the animal shelter. Together, leaders and youth volunteers will offer dogs and cats some much needed TLC and provide basic training to the animals. Volunteer leaders will serve as mentors for youth and provide guidance as they work with challenges that can come up working with needy shelter animals.

Without volunteer leaders, youth can't volunteer in the shelter and they miss out on this great opportunity to make life better for animals in our community. Leaders will develop resume-building leadership experience, and community references. Leaders should be responsible, mature and enthusiastic volunteers (20 years or older) who can commit to a minimum six months of volunteering at the Live Oak Shelter. Training will be provided. No advance experience is required.

Over 20 youth volunteers are just waiting for more leaders so they can begin volunteering at the shelter. With your help, they can get involved and make a difference right away!
