ORGANIZATION: Support The Enlisted Project (STEP)

Social Work Intern

Under the direction of the Client Services Supervisor, the Volunteer Case Manager is responsible for building positive relationships with service members and veterans seeking services and to leverage that relationship to help them begin building strong financial futures.

These goals will be achieved through Evidence Based Practices of Solution Focused Approach, financial counseling, financial education and, when necessary, financial grants. Individualized training generally takes an average of 20 hours to complete and is provided in 4-8 hour blocks during regular business hours within the volunteer's availability. Following the completion of training, volunteer case managers may choose to work from the STEP offices or from home.

STEP assists junior active duty enlisted members and recently discharged enlisted veterans and their families in Southern California facing financial crisis achieve long term financial self-sufficiency through counseling, educations and grants to alleviate critical near term obligations.

Description

Volunteers are implemented in every part of the nonprofit, and is vital to reach our mission of supporting these military families. We need consistent help with sorting donated items, as well as administrative and holiday program support.
