Soltane Bridges

Camphill Soltane (www.camphillsoltane.org) is looking for people who are interested in helping to create a safe, healthy, beautiful, and supportive household environme nt for our off-campus location "Soltane Bridges" in Phoenixville, PA.
Camphill Soltanehas developed a small but growing urban initiative in the thriving community of Phoenixville, PA. Located about 20 minutes from our main campus, Soltane Bridges is ideally situated for those who wish to be connected to the life on campus, but also live and participate in the life of the a more urban community.
Camphill Soltane is a life-sharing community of 80 people, including young adults ages 18-25, and adults age 25 and up, with developmental disabilities. Camphill Soltane is located on 50 acres of beautiful Pennsylvania countryside, 1 hour west of Philadelphia, 2.5 hours from New York City, and close to restaurants, shopping, and numerous cultural attractions.

Starting January 2014 we will have two vacancies for their Phoenixville Location, and individuals could also participate in AmeriCorps program. There are many benefits to the AmeriCorps program, among them the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award
which awards $5,645 towards education costs per year of service (for up to two years).

Description

Camphill Soltane provides continuing education for young adults with developmental disabilities andmeaningful career paths for adults with developmental disabilities. Many students and residents live in the Camphill Soltane community along with residential supporters; some day students and residents also join us from the local area.

Camphill Soltane was founded in 1988 on a 50-acre campus about an hour west of Philadelphia. Camphill Soltane is one of more than 100 communities in the international Camphill Movement, which began in Europe in 1939 as a humanitarian response to the social and moral conditions of the time. The founders of Camphill realized that sharing life with people who need more support or a different pace of life brings beautiful qualities into all our lives.
