The hallmark of KEEN programs is one-on-one attention in an environment that encourages the fulfillment of individual goals. At all KEEN activities, each child or young adult with disability -- the KEEN "athlete"-- is paired with his or her own volunteer "coach." Equipment is provided for a wide array of sports and recreational activities, including soccer, tennis, basketball, swimming, tee-ball, track and field, basic ball skills, and variety of additional activities. KEEN provides an open, unstructured environment for people with any type of disability, including those with significant needs. For some of the children and young adults who are unable to participate in other programs, KEEN may be their only recreational activity. All of KEEN's activities are provided at no cost to the children and their families.
