Looking for adults who are 55 plus.

Lack of contact with others has been shown to be detrimental to the emotional well-being of older people (Findlay, 2003). You can help address the dire need in local communities among senior citizens to be able to stay connected to community life and healthcare settings, and to continue to age in place with dignity, wellness, and a strong sense of self-worth. We are seeking Volunteers to drive Seniors, who are typically in their mid 80s, once or twice a week, for trips that are less than 6 miles, and help them preserve their sense of self. At the end of each ride you will supply four bits of data, easy to gather by email to the Operations Manager.

About an hour or two a week for a few quick trips. Since we call the day before to check availability the opportunity is great for someone who can pop in an hour of driving here and there during the week without feeling tied down, stressed or inconvenienced. We seek people who want to give back in a way that fits their schedule and way of life.
