For the fifth season NHS of Greater Cleveland will be a VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) site, offering free tax preparation services for clients and area residents. Working in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service and the Cuyahoga Earned Income Tax Coalition, NHS of Greater Cleveland will be striving to provide the highest quality of tax preparation for participants, earning them significant savings and much needed tax refunds.
NHS of Greater Cleveland is looking for committed and willing volunteers to assist in the preparation of tax returns for northeast Ohio residents, many of whom return to us season after season. In addition to receiving IRS Tax Preparation Training and Certification, there are several altruistic reasons to volunteer including:
- Helping NHS attain our goal of reaching at least 1000 tax payers this season
- Assuring that all tax payers within the Greater Cleveland area receive high-quality assistance
- Saving clients on average $450 per return in fees
- Helping to build wealth in our communities and strengthen our neighborhoods
NHS of Greater Cleveland will be offering free tax preparation services from early February to mid-April, 2016, with sessions three days a week.
