Mission Statement

Mission Statement

Forgotten Warrior is a veteran-operated, non-profit organization whose mission is to address the vital needs of current and past combat veterans who are struggling with re-entry. Our program will provide an interim, safe, up lifting, nurturing, and supportive program which provides housing with education for back-to-work programs, re-entry life coaching programs, and other various health and social services as needed through the VA and community outreach. It is our intention to provide a bridge to the future and teach independent living and goal setting skills so that our veterans can return to a normal way of living with family and their community.

In addition to the Facility Care program for our veterans, we will assist others with the same mission to help our Veterans. Forgotten Warrior’s Main Goal of is to design an effective veteran Re-entry, and Readjustment program that will service and supply a safe and structured environment that will help the veterans to overcome the deep embedded Traumas from war related stressors. We will, with our Counseling, teach them how to stay in the now thinking and learn to stop the triggers that bring up past traumas. They will have access to educational resources, employment, and daily positive and reinforcing programs that will change their behaviors. Our goal will be to supply services not only in the immediate Sacramento area, but as we get established we will have an out Patient Group program for all veterans in need of our services. We will also assist in developing programs in other parts of the country--the need is real and the time to act is now!

Description

Forgotten Warrior is a non-profit agency, started in 2008 by Veterans to help Veterans. The mission of Forgotten Warrior is to address the vital needs of current and past Veterans struggling with re-entry to civilian life. Forgotten Warrior ensures all Veterans receive the care they need, providing a safety net to those who would otherwise fall through the cracks. Forgotten Warrior has designed a highly effective Veterans’ advocacy program to not only empower Veterans to overcome disabilities and to be positive forces within their families and community, but to help their fellow Veterans by passing on valuable life tools. In the field, our outreach program includes providing services to disabled, homeless and elderly Veterans by providing advocacy care such as transportation and assistance, including those on medication, and/or those under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
