21 st Century Educational Safe House afterschool program

Volunteer Opportunities

Tutors:We need tutors work with kids one-on-one at each of our community sites. The tutors will help kids in high school subjects such as Math, English, Social Studies, Government, Business and Science. Days, times and locations are on back. All tutors need to enroll as a Fayette County School Volunteer and submit to a state background check. The background check is free.

Drivers: We need drivers to transport students to and from the community sites. Drivers must be 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license, car insurance, and must be willing to submit their vehicle to an inspection. Days, times and locations for drivers are on back. All drivers need to enroll as a Fayette County School Volunteer and submit to a state background check. The background check and vehicle inspection is free and provided by Fayette County Public Schools.

Kids Café; Donate and deliver a meal for 20 students to a site. Hungry kids have a hard time focusing on their studies and being productive academically. Nightly family dinners are NOT the norm for most of students. By donating a meal, you not only help the child focus academically but help insure that a child will not go to bed hungry. Suggestions include Fazoli’s pasta/breadsticks; pizza; subs/chips; hamburgers/fries. Days, times and locations are below. All Kids Café sponsors need to enroll as a Fayette County School Volunteer and submit to a state background check. The background check is free and a donation receipt will be provided.

Sponsor an educational field trip: The Educational Safe House is committed to giving our students educational experiences outside of their neighborhoods. Support our Wish List: The items on our wish list support comfort, hygiene, cultural/educational activities, and student recognition.
