CPN Institute

A Cannabis Patient Network Organization

Volunteers ~ Interns

(Desperately Needed)

Cannabis Patient Network (CPN) expected to draw a great deal of attention when we launched a National Membership Organization in 2013!

As a testimony to the support we’ve found since CPN Institute’s launch on 8-8-13

CPN Institute has since gained more than 1200 members from all 50 of the U.S. States and 12 International Countries in ONLY 3 Months!

It appears many share in the CPN Institute mission of helping cannabis patients worldwide! Based on our current growth we anticipate having more than 2500 members by year’s end! This means we need to prepare now for tremendous growth in 2014 and beyond!

Mission:

CPN Institute’s mission is to empower patients to take an active part in their healthcare, their recovery, and in research that highlights their knowledge and embodied experience as patients with an endocannabinoid system, who use cannabis as medicine.

Internship Position: PHOTOGRAPHY

CPN Institute has several part-time, unpaid internship openings for intelligent, ambitious and innovative undergraduate and/or graduate students interested in learning and working in the cannabis industry through rewarding non-profit work with a cannabis patient-centered organization.

Internships are unpaid; however, interns will be eligible to apply for scholarships offered in the spring, summer, and fall semesters when funded. We also are happy to work with your college or university to satisfy course credit or other related requirements.

CPN Institute has a wide-variety of projects available and will offer flexible opportunities to engage in the cannabis industry (often with notable industry leaders); participate in educational events, seminars, workshops, and conferences; support research that emphasizes the needs of cannabis patients, including future clinical trials; and gain a unique insight into a growing population and industry supporting cannabis patients.

Internship Qualifications:

  • College students, recent graduates, and graduate students preferred for internships--though some "Trade School" applicants may be considered. All other applicants may apply as Volunteers;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience using social media and online research tools, including Facebook and Twitter;
  • Ability to devote a minimum of 10-15 hours per week to CPN Institute assignments and activities;
  • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely manner, work independently and collaborate with a team;
  • Goal and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to solve problems and juggle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment;
  • Adaptability, initiative, and a desire to reflect and receive constructive feedback is indispensable, as is willingness to make appropriate decisions;
  • Passion and Commitment to the mission of CPN Institute and helping cannabis patients everywhere.
  • Note: Due to the project driven nature of this organization and the global needs of cannabis patients, interns from any location will be considered if they are able to telecommute appropriately.

Position Qualifications: Photography

The Photography Intern will provide direct support to Director Mark Pedersen and ensure that the projects they work on tell stories through visual images. The intern will have the opportunity to shoot a variety of subject matter including head shots, outdoor and indoor events and landscapes--and will at times have access to the most exclusive places and people in the cannabis industry.

In addition to specific photography assignments, the intern will organize and sort and edit digital images which will be used to build awareness, market and promote CPN Institute’s programs, services and events. This role will also provide the opportunity to use and develop skills in event planning and coordination by recruiting and with the assistance of Mr. Pedersen, managing and providing direction to other volunteer photographers.

Interns are needed in Colorado and other states across the U.S. If travel is involved, expenses may be covered with advanced approval. Please note Cannabis Medicine Today, a new medical journal connecting the patient experience with science will be premiered in January 2014 with the assistance of CPN Institute.

How to Apply:

Please send an email to ReginaNelson.CPN@gmail.com, with a Cover Letter and Resume, telling us "Why" you’d like to be an Intern for CPN Institute, describe the time available each week you have to devote (and how you will accomplish tasks remotely if you are requesting to telecommute) and providing a glimpse of your long-term career goals in your cover letter.
