Start 2016 off right! Come visit Naper Settlement and learn about exciting volunteer opportunities in our Education Department! Staff will be discussing three volunteer opportunities on various dates; adult Building Interpreters and teen/adult History Connectors and youth Junior Volunteers.

Building Interpreters lead tours of historic buildings and must be over 18. Interpreters may choose to wear a period-correct costume, but this is not required. History Connectors interact with visitors at activity stations and special programming and must be over 14. Informational meetings for Interpreters and Connectors will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 7-8:30 PM or on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10-11:30 AM. Interested volunteers should plan to attend one meeting. Junior Volunteers are in 4th- 8th grades and do wear period-correct costuming. Juniors interact with museum visitors by playing 19th century games and other activities. Informational meetings for parents will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 7-8:30 PM and Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 1-2:30 PM. Parents of new Junior volunteers must attend one of these meetings. Prospective Junior Volunteers are also invited.
