Chesapeake Natives Inc. is looking for volunteers to help grow native plants in our active nursery, plant natives and weed out exotic plants as part of habitat restoration projects, maintain demonstration gardens, provide educational activities to area schools and assist in restoring our historic greenhouse in Rosaryville State Park.
We are an expanding, volunteer-driven organization, and you can really help make a difference. Chesapeake Natives is open to volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. If you or your group want to work with us, we can develop an opportunity suited to your interests and skills that helps our overall mission to promote, propagate, and protect native plants and the ecosystems they support.
Our regular nursery volunteers can equip you with the knowledge and skills to propagate, plant and work with native plants. If you are already knowledgeable about gardening or botany, we welcome you to enrich our program! We are committed to providing a safe work environment for all ages.
Volunteer Hours: We work on site every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, with usually one extended workday per month (a Saturday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM).

About Chesapeake Natives Inc.

Mission Statement
Chesapeake Natives promotes, protects, and propagates plants native to the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
Description
Chesapeake Natives is a small, busy, volunteer driven non-profit. We're enthusiastic promoters of native plants, especially those of the Chesapeake Watershed. These plants have grown vigorously in our region for thousands of years and are the best choice for restoring healthy watersheds and diverse wildlife to our area.
We responsibly gather seeds from wild native plant populations, grow them in our nursery and demonstration gardens, sell them at plant sales around the area and work with schools setting up rain and butterfly gardens.
Currently, while propagating native plants, we are also stabilizing and restoring a derelict greenhouse in Rosaryville State Park near Upper Marlboro.
