The Salvation Army, with the help of the community of New York, offers social services and specialized programs addressing specific physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of families, individuals, children and elderly community members alike. These services include, but are not limited to: Emergency Disaster situations, homeless programs, soup kitchens, community center programs, homework centers, Christmas assistance, and more. Our services are funded by donations made through the Christmas Kettle Campaign. We are looking for upstanding citizens to help in our efforts to meet the human needs throughout our community.
Volunteers will be assigned a kettle location somewhere around the city of White Plains, and will "man" that station (possibly with other volunteers) for the allotted time period that they are able to. Volunteers need to be willing and able to stand for long periods of time ringing our traditional Salvation Army Kettle Bells. If you are able to dedicate 2 hours on a certain day or consecutive days/weekends, we are more than happy to accommodate you. It's really based on your schedule and when you are willing to volunteer with us
Please note: We are looking for fiendly, approachable and compassionate volunteers.
